We recently upgraded from 3.6.8 to 3.7 RC1. After adding new RSS feeds, and attempting to run them, we get "XML Error: mismatched tag at line 5" for the new feeds added. » How can i improve the sound of my electric guitar besides new pickups or new strings or a new amp?

im asking because i have this old guitar that i got for less than $100 ive already ordered new pickups and i already know the affect that a new amp or new strings have on a guitar but what else is there? i really wanna hook this guitar up so any suggestions would be great. thanksWell first off technece ( probbly spelled that wrong) and also an effect pedal wouldn't hurtgo buy some guitar effect pedals. you can have tons of fun with them, and some are pretty cheap tooI have a really naff guitar with naff pickups and naff strings, but the amp aint too bad. however, I dont think its always the equipment that makes you play and sound cool, its the player themselve. » Why Auto Bailout More Resisted Than Bank Rescue? Fox news?

Because the U.S. automakers don't have more cash coming in than going out. Business rule No. 1 is make money. According to Argus analyst Kevin Tynan, GM had a net cash shortfall of $13.8 billion at the end of 2005, then another shortfall of $12.3 billion for 2006 and then again $12.1 billion for 2007. Tynan expects it to burn through $1 billion of cash per month. The automakers keep screaming, Why did the banks get bailouts and not why not us? Simply put: You don't make money. The chance of getting the loans paid back is slim. The numbers being tossed around right now ($34 billion) are staggering for an industry that does not provide the life blood of the American economy, which is what the financial system does. I know that...... - 2010-02-08

    » EF 50mm?? HHEEELLLPPP!!

I've heard a bunch of mixed reviews on the EF 50mm f1.8 MkII lens. Is it worth the hassle to try and find a MkI?? Is the image quality better or is it just the advantage of having a metal mount?? I've also Heard of a lot of inconsistancy in the quality, anyone had a bad copy here?? A good one?? Should I pop for the f1.4?? SOOO Many questions!!! HEELLPPI wouldn't worry about it...just get the new Mk II lens. Sure the build quality is not that great...but that's why it's only $70 US. The optics should still be pretty good. I have the older Mk I lens, with distance scale and metal mount but I've held the new one...not too much of a quality difference IMO. If you have the cash and need for F1.4, then get the expensive one. It's suppo...... - 2010-02-08

» Is there any MIT or programming college in Seattle?

is there any if there is then tell meThere really isn't an institution of higher learning in the Seattle area that is just for programming or at the same prestige as MIT. The closest would be DeVry because of its strong IT department. It has a campus in both Bellevue and Federal Way. Other universities have IT and programming of course, but none are as popular as DeVry.MIT? As in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology? That would be in Massachusetts. Do you take your battery out of your camera when you're not using it, even if it's just for a day or two? I know someone who takes his battery out of his video camera every time he turns it off... I'm sure this has been raised here before but I didn't come across anything when I searched.I store it in my camera.Def stays in my camera... Yeah, mine's in my camera, and the spare is in the camera bag.for my still cameras i leave them in, but i take them out of my video camera (Sony DCRVX1000) for some reason it drains really quickly when I leave it inStills cameras don't appear to drain any/very much at all - when left in the camera. » If my cat is pregnant, can she have an abortion?

I think she may have gotten knocked when she escaped out the house. If so, are there abortions for cats??Yes, they can remove the kittens at the same time they spay her. Technically there is no such thing as an abortion for cats as they cannot remove the kittens without removing ALL the reproductive organs. Take her to the vet to see how far along she is..they may be able to do the spay if she is not too far along. The spay will cost a little more than if she was not pregnant. Vets regularly perform spays on a pregnant cat. If you cannot get her spayed now..do it as soon as the kittens are weaned as you don't want to contribute again to the already out of control pet overpopulation problem. To answer your question, yes, and no. A new outbreak had also been found in Ouagadougou itself. » Do you have any baby name pet peeves?

I guess we all have some... What are yours? Specific names, or general name categories/styles? For example, it irks me to see Johnathan and Aiden. The correct spellings are Jonathan and Aidan. It's a very simple thing, I know, but I guess that's the way pet peeves are. Another pet peeve, a more general concept, is "tryndee" spellings. It's under the false concept that it makes the name more unique. It's the same name as it's origin - it sounds EXACTLY the same; it's just more difficult to remember the spelling. Boy name on girls. Hi everyone, Can anyone please tell me what you think about the Fuji S6500/s600FD camera? I am new in this business and want to shoot wedding pictures. I want to buy this camera, because this is the only one I can afford for now. Or if you can suggest any other camera in the same price category, I will be very grateful. Thank you Indigoif you have a bit of extra money, the Nikon D40 would be a ton better, however in that price range you won't get an SLR. I was in the same situation about a year ago before I could afford my SLR I got the Fuji S5200 and loved it. This one seems to have more features than the 5200 and much better quality. » What is the fastest and most efficient way to build credit from nothing using a credit card?

I just recieved my first credit card in the mail and I just wanted to know what the credit bureau actually looks at. Is it that my bill is paid on time? How much of my limit is used at the time? If I pay over the minimum? What is the best way to build?First of all, keep them bills paid on time. This is most important. Next, keep your balance at 30% of limit or lower. If your limit is, say, $1000 keep your balance at $300 or less. Paying over minimum is actually a good thing since it will keep your balance low and you never know when things might take a downturn in which case you may just have to pay the minimum. One other thing, be sure to check your credit report annually with each of the three major credit bureaus. This is for two...... - 2010-02-08

    » Medium Format Scanner

Ok, so I've been using a Canon Canoscan 8600 to scan my medium format photos lately and I've been pretty disappointed overall. The plastic trays it comes with don't keep the film flat, the dynamic range is really narrow and I always have blown out highlights and low detail in the shadows. (it also adds a very strong magenta color cast to the scans EVERY time) Then I look at slides and there is so much more shadow detail and very little areas that are blown out. Here's and example where it looks perfect on the slide, but the scanner screws it completely: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1049/788766361_b1feb8057e_b.jpg I've really been wanting a dedicated film scanner lately and I'm ready to fork up the money to buy one. » Can over beating ruin a pound cake?

I believe I may be over beating. The edges come out fine, but the middle is thick, gummy or oily looking.Once you add the flour, yes, you definitely can overbeat it. But you need to beat that sugar and butter 5-7 min, then eggs, to get lots of air in there, making them light and fluffy. This adds to the leavening and the air trappedin the butter/eggs makes the cake rise. Add the flour last, and mix (don't beat) only until incorporated. Stop mixer, get into greased/floured pan, and get into preheated oven ASAP so it doesn't lose volume. I like a bit of baking soda or powder in mine, too, just to help. BUt a pound cake is supposed to be denser than a regular "birthday" or "wedding" cake.... just not gummy or oily.pound cake h...... - 2010-02-08

» Why are exoplanets called, "HD and then some number after that"?

Like HD-579 Why HD plus a number?HD followed by a number refers to a star in the Henry Draper catalogue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Drape... (So this specifies the star around which the exoplanet orbits.) This is a catalogue of stars published from 1918 to 1949. It includes (along with extensions to the catalogue) about 359,000 stars down to magnitude 9 (and somewhat fainter), and includes the spectroscopic classification for each star. Most stars have several different designations, because there are lots of different star catalogues and naming systems. The Henry Draper catalogue is a widely used one, and gives astronomers a convenient way to refer to the "brighter" stars in the sky. (Stars of magnitude 9 are too fa...... - 2010-02-08

Anyway, now I'm just looking for a unique lens...either a Lensbaby or a lens that goes to 10mm.i'v dabbled in creating a PS effect which could replace a lensbaby, but to be honest im never 100% satisfied... its alot harder than it sounds... the results can be very good, but i can usually tell when someone has used PS to achieve the look. Thats just as bad as those people putting M3 badges on a BMW 318 or guys who put AMG badges and wheels on a regular base model benze. Pretenders are so lame!Yes they will, The fenders and hood are the same from 2005-2008.. So you will have no problembuy a V8It should work. But you'll get made fun of for having a car that looks fast, but isn't.you would think so because it starts out as the same car but i would buy the shelby terlingua body kit or you can acually take your car in and turn it into a terlingua. but thats off topic. if ...... - 2010-02-08

    » Fence warped??

Jake, I routinely check the squareness of my fence (using a ruler with graduations of 1/64th of an inch)to the miter slot. When the right side of the fence is in perfect alignment with the miter slot the left side is not. Measurements from the rear fence (by the rear fence track) compared to the front fence (by the front fence track) shows a difference of 5/64ths of an inch (to the miter slot). How do I correct this? I push the fence forward before locking the fence. SteveCheck the distances between your mitre slots and make sure they are parallel and also check your fence to see if it's been swelled out on one side or the otherThe top and bottom measurement from the left miter track to the right miter track is exactly the same at 9-1/8". ...... - 2010-02-08

    » Home-made Umbrella

Hi all, I'm a student living in South Africa - that is in essence my problem... In South Africa *ALL* photographic supplies - even the el-cheapo models - are imported, secondly being a full time student I don't have the resources to pay the exorbitant prices. I’ve been into photography for a while, and at the moment am experimenting with taking my flash off camera. So I went to the biggest Photographic retailer in town and managed to find a light-stand relatively cheaply. But then, when I enquired about a reflective umbrella I was shocked to find that the umbrella was way more than the stand... So I thanked them for their time and walked out with just the stand. I decided to build my own... So I went to a cheap Chinese shop - they sel...... - 2010-02-08

» Since Obama is black should he be held to a higher standard or if he's white a lesser standard?

If we should elect him because is black inquiring minds like to know.Sure the guy is a joke, if he wasn't black, he still in Chicago hustling votes for Acorn.Senator Obama, should he become President Obama, will be held to the highest standards by the American people because like it or not that's what we do to relative newcomers to the national political scene. Having said that, the standard used by the American people is going to be different from the standard adopted by his harshest critics, who will deliberately measure Obama by a standard that he cannot possibly meet. I think the American people will measure Obama purely on effectiveness. How will he further shape the federal response to the credit crisis and its underpinni...... - 2010-02-08

» Is there a way to wear nylons without getting runs in them?

i have a wedding to go to on saturday and i'm wearing nylons with my dress. whenever i wear nylons i manage to put runs in them while putting them on or 5 minutes after wearing them lol. idk how this happens, but it does. i'm super careful putting them on and i only put them on right before i leave so the chances of getting a run is less. but no luck :/ what can i do? i don't wanna be walking around with ripped up nylons all afternoon/night!Shave your legs first and avoid sharp objects. Sounds like you might be clumsy like me. I always bump into things and get a run in my hose. I always avoid running into anything that will snag my hose. I don't think they make anything that prevents getting runs except trousers pant...... - 2010-02-08

I doubt a tourist would have the forethought to compose a picture of the Eiffel Tower like that. :)Nice conversions & I echo theushers wordsthanks both... guess I should work more on the second ... :) maybe make it a b&w HDR with a more dramatic sky ...Touristy or not, they're still both great shots! And yes, I think on the second one, a HDR with a different sky would be perfect. :)i dont think that they are touristy i agree with theusher no tourist would shot the tower like that....nice job...great comp.thanks bo...... - 2010-02-08

» Where are all the giants fans that were talking trash last week?

The boys put a beating on Manning and the g-mean....8 sacks, and no touchdowns....!!!!!! So where are they this morning?????Licking their wounds, and wondering how in god's name are they going to win over Carolina next week. Stand by true believers, there is yet another beat down coming for the G Men and this one is going to be real bad.the cowboys will not get past the first round/playoffs,like they always do. » Why do you like the music that you like?

hey i need to write an essay on why people in general like the music that they like. pls help me!!I DON'T KNWOI am a music fanatic - therefore I do not like just one type of music. I like them all, for different reasons. Mostly just the different flavor of music. For pop songs, mostly the lyrics get to me and the music just helps set the mood. For rock, the guitar solos can really get my heart pumping. Classical can really help you think and relax. And surprisingly, one of my favorite styles of music is opera - because it takes a ton of talent to be able to do it. You don't have to be a good singer to become a pop star - just have to learn how to hold a note somewhat decent. You can't pull off opera, you have to have the tale...... - 2010-02-08

» Confused as heck..Why would a co-worker treat another this way?

the other day while at work, we had spoke on the phone before, but had never met him, so he came through to check on the workers, and the first thing he says to me is "Oh you hurt my feelings, you should have called ME for extra hours, not the other manager"..so I tell him:Well its because I don;t have your number, and he hands me his card, and tells me to call him, and we talk a little bit, and during the whole time, hes smiling, and laughing. So fast forward today, my co-worker tells me"Oh your friend is outside" meaning the manager..and he goes on to tell me that the manager was acting really nervous and weird, and told he did not want to come inside because he had to go,.....so I'm a little confused, and I feel bad, because I'...... - 2010-02-08
