  • Do people need social to travel in the US?

  • okay this is the thing my friend lives in FL and i live in MA and i want her to visit me but she doesn't have a social does she needs it to travel only in the US? like her passport is good so i want to know is it really necessary ?

  • A government issued ID is all that she needs. A drivers license or passport are fine. If she is not a US citizen, she needs her visa as well as security might ask to see it (legally, a non-US citizen needs to carry their visa at all times).

  • She needs valid photo ID, such as Driver's license, green card, passport, to travel within US.

  • No you don't need a social security card to travel. She will be just fine with a passport for any traveling she needs to do outside the U.S. When you travel inside the U.S. all you need is a picture ID. A drivers license or ID card from the state you live in and it needs to be currant. I believe that if you go to Alaska or Hawaii you will need your passport or anytime you leave the U.S.

Your social security card is mainly used to get a job in the U.S. and get documents like your passport or a birth certificate, ect. Which you still need a piture ID.

You guys have a good time.
