my fiancee just got a tattoo on friday. he would like to know if its ok to put neosporin ointment on it. its a first aid antibiotic ointment which would help cure it quicker. so is it?
anything else he can put on it? Neosporin is bad for the tattoo, I used an unscented lotion on all of mine and they healed fine.
I used Jergen's I think.No neosporin, or anything else that is petroleum based (like vaseline) all ointments do is stifle the tattoo (keeps air from getting to it).
Like was already said, get him to use a fragrance free and aloe free lotion. Vaseline has a line like this as does Lubriderm and Moisturel. There are several store brands like Target and Wal Mart that also have fragrance and aloe free lines.
